Cole Palmer has no plan to leave Chelsea despite Manchester United links

Cole Palmer is happy at Chelsea and has no plans to leave the club anytime soon amid recent reports linking him to Manchester United.

According to Football Insider, Cole Palmer has no plans to leave Chelsea anytime soon amid speculation surrounding his future. Manchester United are set to receive a massive blow in their hopeful pursuit of the 23-year-old Chelsea star, as the Blues too have no plans to entertain any approaches.

Cole Palmer has been at the end of some constructive criticisms over his performances for the last year or so. There have been a lack of open play goals from the 23-year-old Chelsea star, as well as a dip in his overall form, which could be attributed to the numerous fitness issues he has faced during the last year or so.

The idle time on the sidelines has given rise to plenty of media speculation surrounding Palmer’s long-term future at the club. There have been links to Manchester United as an example, with suggestions that the Red Devils could be willing to pay a massive fee to secure the 23-year-old Chelsea star.

Palmer, who is apparently a boyhood Manchester United fan despite turning up for rivals and neighbours Manchester City in his career, was reportedly open to a switch to Old Trafford. However, those hopes are about to be dashed, as Palmer seems to be happy with life at Chelsea.

Chelsea have no plans to sell him at the moment or in the future, as they have a massive stronghold on his future. Palmer is tied down to a contract until 2033, which would potentially enable Chelsea to demand a significant fee, maybe even a record-breaking sum.

Cole Palmer to stay at Chelsea?

Chelsea considers Palmer as their marquee player and, in other terms, a ‘franchise player’, which will see them make the best efforts to keep him. The idea of selling a top-notch player to one of Chelsea’s direct rivals may seem absurd at this hour, which effectively rules out a move.

Palmer being settled with life at Stamford Bridge is also a big plus for Chelsea, as they might even consider offering him an improved contract in terms of his salary. For now, Manchester United have no chance of landing the 23-year-old Chelsea star, even if they are willing to pay big.
