Crystal Palace agree deal to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen, medical expected on Sunday

Crystal Palace are on the verge of securing the services of Wolves attacker Jorgen Strand Larsen; medical scheduled.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is all set to part ways with Wolves and join rivals Crystal Palace before the transfer deadline. According to a report from The Guardian, the Eagles have agreed terms with the Wolverhampton-based club to sign the Norwegian striker.

Strand Larsen made a name for himself while playing for Celta Vigo. He then joined Wolves in the summer of 2024. While it was an initial loan deal, the Premier League outfit made it permanent for £23 million last summer.

In his debut campaign in the English top flight, he finished with 14 goals and four assists. His performances certainly attracted a lot of interest. With the club struggling, his numbers in front of goal have also gone down. However, interest in his signature remains sky high.

Crystal Palace have been keen on securing his services in the ongoing window, as they look to bring in a capable replacement for Jean-Philippe Mateta. The French forward pushed for an exit, and the Eagles have allowed him to join AC Milan. He is set to complete a £30 million switch to the Italian club.

Strand Larsen to replace Mateta at Selhurst Park

The Eagles wanted to bring in a replacement before sanctioning Mateta’s departure. As a result, they went all out to sign Strand Larsen. While Oliver Glasner’s team did take a back seat in their pursuit of the 25-year-old, they eventually reignited their interest and have managed to strike a deal with Wolves.

Palace have decided to fork out £48 million to sign the Norwegian striker. While Wolves’ chances of survival are very low, they still want to be active in this window and in order to fund those moves, they have let go of Strand Larsen.

Wolves have given the green light to the move, and an agreement over the final makeup of the deal is also in place. The player is expected to undergo a medical at his new club on Sunday. With the 25-year-old is set to join Palace, Mateta’s move to Milan will also be finalised.
